Amber Thorne, arriving 10th February 2007

My name is Amber Thorne and I am a PC based in Waltham Forest. I went on a course and met a fantastic woman who runs a great project in Rwanda where street children get food, education and a roof over their head as well as being taught various skills which can enhance their lifestyle. They work and study in return for their three daily meals.

And I had a thought - we have over 30,000 police officers in the Metropolitan Police Service and what would it be like if each and every of us gave a £1 donation? Not much to spare for us but this is what it provides for them - 20 pence a day will feed a child. The money could provide some stability for them, so that they know where the next meal is coming from.

I am going to Rwanda in February and I will be able to witness the difference that donations make in transforming the lives of poverty stricken children (see www.sacca.org.uk for more info). I have a target of £30,000 to reach by 4pm on Tuesday 16th January 2007.

If you would also like to help the street children in Rwanda, donations can be given on the donate page of this website. All contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Your help is demanded on this amazing fundraising venture to transform the way we know ourselves and the future of the children in Sacca Rwanda. If you are interested in volunteering and would like to come to Rwanda and help please contact us, we would love to hear from you.

Thank you! Best wishes from Amber
